1. Who we are

functionSPACE is an open project built by its Core Contributors. Its sole current Core Contributor is Integral Labs Pty Ltd, an Australian private company based in Melbourne, Victoria ("we", "us", "our"). Integral Labs Pty Ltd is the entity responsible for handling personal information collected through this website.

  • Entity: Integral Labs Pty Ltd
  • ABN: 27 692 078 505
  • ACN: 692 078 505
  • Type: Australian private company
  • Location: Melbourne, VIC 3121, Australia

We expect additional Core Contributors — both individuals and companies — to join functionSPACE over time. If that changes who is responsible for your information, we will update this policy.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). For any privacy matter, you can reach us at contact@functionspace.dev (see Contact & complaints).

2. Scope

This policy covers www.functionspace.dev and its content subdomains (for example docs., demo., learn, and research pages). It explains what we collect when you browse our site, join our early-access list, or enter a competition.

It does not cover third-party services we link to (such as GitHub, X, or Telegram), which are governed by their own privacy policies. Our authenticated product applications (for example the builder dashboard and live market surfaces), as they launch, will have their own terms and privacy notices covering account and product data.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you submit a form on our site, we collect what you choose to provide:

  • Early-access sign-ups — first and last name, email address, Telegram handle, and (optionally) your X/Twitter handle, company website, a category describing you, and any note you add. When you submit, we also record the time of submission, the referring page, and your IP address.
  • Competition entries — the details you provide as part of an entry, such as your Telegram, GitHub, and X/Twitter handles, project name and description, the markets you built, your repository and deployment links, a demo video link, and any referral. (Our most recent competition closed on 18 May 2026; this describes entries we hold.)
  • Correspondence — if you email contact@functionspace.dev, we receive your message and contact details.

Form submissions are stored on infrastructure we control (see Disclosure & third parties).

Information collected automatically

When you visit, our analytics provider (Google Analytics 4) collects standard technical and usage data, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the referring page, and approximate location derived from your IP. We also store a small preference in your browser to remember your light/dark theme choice.

4. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • operate, maintain, and improve the website and our products;
  • respond to enquiries and provide support;
  • administer early-access sign-ups and competitions, and contact you about them;
  • send you product, launch, and early-access updates by email;
  • understand how the site is used through aggregate analytics;
  • meet our legal obligations.

If you join our early-access list, you agree we may email you product and launch updates. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails, or by contacting contact@functionspace.dev.

5. Disclosure & third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site and our operations, and only as needed for them to perform their service. These currently include:

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC) — website analytics.
  • Render (Render Services, Inc.) — hosting for our static marketing website.
  • DigitalOcean (DigitalOcean LLC) — server hosting where our form submissions (early-access and competition entries) are stored.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights and safety.

6. Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies, primarily for analytics via Google Analytics 4, to understand site usage. These cookies help us count visits and see which pages are popular; they are not used to personally identify you.

Aside from Google Analytics cookies, the only thing we store in your browser is a small preference that remembers your light/dark theme choice. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, after which we delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you at any time (see Contact & complaints).

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Overseas transfers

Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia. In particular, Google Analytics data may be processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates, and our hosting providers (Render and DigitalOcean) may store data in facilities outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

10. Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, ask us to delete it, and opt out of our emails at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period.

11. Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be made prominent where appropriate.

13. Contact & complaints

If you have a question about this policy, want to exercise a right above, or wish to make a privacy complaint, contact us at contact@functionspace.dev.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

This policy describes how we currently handle personal information and may be updated as our products and practices evolve.
